"I came late to art as a career. I consulted Judy Cassab who started me off
copying a section of a Dobell drawing. She also gave me a list of palette
colours and some of her old brushes and suggested I start drawing and
painting classes. I was obsessively hooked”
Hillary has completed a 4 year art course at Charlie Sheard's studio school,
learning traditional artistic techniques.
As well as 3 post graduate drawing courses.
She now works mostly from the Eastern Suburbs and on Scotland Island where
she is inspired by the beautiful Pittwater environment.
Her current works on paper are abstract drawings. A series of twelve works
that have all been developed from one visual influence.
The pictures are made using different papers and mixed media including
charcoal, graphite, conte and pastels.
