LINEAL MEMORIES

I began this series from a spontaneous desire to experiment with a new medium.

In this case it involves the use of electrical, cloth and metallic tapes. As an artistic element, stripes or lineal designs have always been used for impact and can be found almost everywhere in our everyday environment.

The ‘weathered finish’ has been deliberately applied to these works to emphasize how the actual design images are an integral part of the 3-dimensional objects they embellish. As they are exposed to the ravages of time they are constantly transformed and carry with them stories of their survival….
