Ad Long has worked for years as a cartoonist, illustrator, muralist and story board artist, without ever having any particular aspirations to be a “fine artist”. His assemblages are influenced by comic art, toys, advertising, Aussie irreverence, tattoos and pop culture generally, all strictly low-brow. Fun and funky sculpted characters, married to banged up old objects (with all the associations and symbolism they bring).
