Fiona completed her Visual arts degree at QUT in 1993. She is a
dedicated artist and art educator, whose latest series
explores the aspects of human behaviour that compares to animals. They invite
the viewer to escape the ceaseless demands of adulthood and rebel against the
expectations of responsibility by reclaiming their childhood. Her playful use
of acrylics and other media create movement, excitement and give attitude to her
hybrid figures.
Fiona has
held numerous solo and group exhibitions on the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne
and Perth and has been a finalist in many art awards. She was the 2007 winner of
‘Going Public-New and Emerging artists’ award at the Town Hall Gallery
Melbourne.
Fiona is the recipient of two Gold Coast City Council regional
art grants. Her works are found in collections in England, Hong Kong, Indonesia,
Thailand, Canada and most capital cities of Australia.
